diPietro Todd Academy

The diPietro Todd Academy is “The Best Kept Secret” according to Karim Dossa, Education Director for Rene Furterer.
Honestly, hearing this was music to my ears since the educators at the academy work hard to perfect their craft so that they can demonstrate their knowledge to people at the highest level.  We keep the classes small for our students and more than anything we want them to leave with a new cutting or color technique. They can add these new skills to their repertoire in the salon where they come from to make them more successful and their careers more enjoyable. diPietro Todd is all about education and we love to share.

Cheers to our new Academy Director of Cutting- Debi Alley who will be joining Shelly Mohr, the Academy Director of Color.

Hope to see you in 2014…..

-Kim Todd

Les Enfants Terribles April 22, 2012

les-enfants-terribles-soiree-april-12-2012_205They did it again! Our brillantly talented assistants have raised yet another bar with their latest show at Club Mighty on April 22, 2012. Inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier and his provocative and genderbending styles, the students created progressive hair cuts, extravagant hair colors and over-the-top upstyles. Much of their inspiration came from the fascinating multimedia exhibition of Gaultier’s work featured at the De Young museum, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. The students work collaboratively to produce all aspects of the show from the hair, fashion, make up, music and creative direction. Click here to see more photo’s from Les Enfants Terribles. We are so proud of them and eager to see what will inspire them next year! Stay tuned….

It’s a Wrap

Reflecting back on this year, we are filled with gratitude.  As Educators, we pushed ourselves further than ever and as Stylists and Colorists we grew, learned and explored. We met and worked with many great hairstylists along the way from all across the country both at our Academy and in their home salons. With our Directors and Educators traveling across the country, we enjoyed working on the road in such locations as NYC, Seattle, LA, Chicago, Dallas, and Miami.  It’s always fun to see what other hairdressers in our industry are up to and being adaptable to various types of formats. We ran everything from small format private classes to big venue presentations. At our Academy here in SF, we’re offering new courses in 2012. While our popular classics continue to sell out, we feel its important to mix it up and offer new twists for our die hard repeat attendees. We had fun with our creative classes-  tying together cut, color and style compared to our normally departmentalized programs. Next year, we are offering this as a 2-day class which many of attendees have requested. Our enrollment continues to grow and we are so proud of our team and what they have accomplished. We are grateful for all of the attendees that took part in our Academy this past year. Thank you for visiting our beautiful city and sharing our passion for this amazing industry that we are all a part of. See you next year…..
